Miguel Cabrera has a legitimate shot at the triple crown and on the other side Mike trout is having one of the greatest rookie seasons ever with 30 HR and 40+ SB and a batting average just a few points below Cabrera. So which one deserves it? Well in my opinion it goes to Cabrera hands down. The Tigers are playoff bound assuming that they don't have an utter meltdown between now and Wednesday. Where the Angles are on track to be on the outside looking in. But in my opinion that doesn't matter. There has not been a triple crown winner in baseball since 1967, the fact that Cabrera entering the day would win the triple crown makes him the clear winner in my book.
For those of you who don't know what the triple crown in baseball is, to win the triple crown in baseball a hitter must lead his respective league in batting average, RBI's and Home Runs. As of Tuesday morning, Cabrera lead all 3 categories, with no ties. Like I said above this doesn't exactly happen every day. Trout is having an unbelievable season, and has been a vital part of the Angles success. The Angles were floundering before he made his debut early this season, but, call me a traditionalist if you want, if you are this close to the triple crown... you get the MVP in my book. I mean it hasn't happened in 40 years!
