Despite Indy Car struggling to find its identity and fan base the Indianapolis 500 always attracts large crowds, a good time and exciting racing. For those of you who don’t remember last year Dario Franchitti won on the last lap as Takuma Sato tried to stay low in turn one and lost the back end of the car – sending him into the wall.
Surprisingly enough, Sato is entering the month of May with the points lead in the Indy Car series, winning the most recent race and placing second the race previous. Sato is not a household name, despite his greatest efforts in 2012; he will be a force to be recognized with come race day. It is early but his AJ Foyt Enterprise car has the fifth fastest lap time and AJ Foyt’s team seems to be finding their stride after 10 years of struggle.
