The flip side of that is this weeks team of discussion, Notre Dame. Winning is an expectation at Notre Dame... it is a tradition. A tradition of success, being in contention for national championships, being in the top 25. This season is no exception for the Irish. The Irish are currently 7-2 with the only 2 losses being against to 25 opponents. The Irish are back in the top 25 and played pretty much how one would have expected them to coming into the season. They are not the stiffling D, national title contender we saw a year ago, but they are a good team. Notre Dame won all of its trophy games this year, which will make the alums happy, but lost to rival Michigan in the last playing of that annual game for some time. The Irish have 3 games remaining in the 2013 calendar year and are guarenteed a marquee bowl game some time in late December or early January. Notre Dame should have little trouble with traditional rival Pitt and BYU should both be winnable games, th0ugh playing against Pitt at Heinz field could make things a little more difficult. The game the Irish really need to worry about is the game with rival Stanford on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Not only is Stanford a top 5 team again this year, the Cardinal will be looking to get even after the controversial ending to last years overtime game up in Southbend. I see the Irish winning 2 of the next 3 and missing out on a BCS bowl, but settling for a big time match up around new years.

P.S. Ball State is our team up for discussion next week, and they play tomorrow night (Wednesday) on ESPN (or ESPN 2) against Central Michigan which should be a great MAC match up.
