I have said this many times and it will make it official...the Indianapolis Colts will win the Super Bowl. If you look at the Indianapolis Colts they have only lost three games in the last twenty eight, and let’s remember that two of them the Colts decided to lose. The only game that the Colts have lost because they got beat by a better team was in the AFC wild card game in 2008 to the San Diego Chargers. The bottom line is that the Colts have not lost this year unless they decided too and the Saints do not have a good enough defense to stop the best Quarterback in the NFL at the time.
Now let’s get on to something that the world doesn’t know and hasn’t heard about. I call it a new twist on a story that has been covered. As many of you know I lived in upstate New York and most of my extended family still lives in the Syracuse metropolitan area. Both of my parents lived in upstate New York for most of their lives. Thus I became a huge of fan of New York based teams. I love and die for the Buffalo Sabres and New York Yankees. I am a fan of the Syracuse Orange and use to be a fan of the Buffalo Bills. To be honest I still enjoy cheering on the Bills but it has been hard not to cheer for the Colts and Pacers since living here for almost ten years. Many of my New York alliances are still intact because of Indianapolis lacking professional teams for those sports, i.e. hockey and baseball.
My bias on sports teams is not what I wanted to talk about but I think it is also important for you as a reader to know my background a little bit. So with that said the Buffalo Bills need to take a quarterback and looking at professionals and their predictions for the draft the best quarterback available will be Tim Tebow. As I see it, there are four quarterbacks in this draft that will be picked in the first round. They consist of Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen, Colt McCoy, and Tim Tebow. Depending on what source you look at they have either Jimmy Clausen or Sam Bradford going first to the St. Louis Rams. There is no doubt that the Rams need a franchise quarterback and drafting a quarterback will be the first step to rebuilding and avoiding another one win season. The Washington Redskins and the Seattle Seahawks, fourth and sixth respectively in the draft, are both teams that are in need of quarterbacks as well.
If you look at the other five teams before the Buffalo Bills it would appear that at least one of these top four quarterbacks should be available. The Chiefs, Lions, Browns and Raiders all think they have their franchise quarterback already, even though it appears that Quinn is not the quarterback everyone thought he would be and Russell has a secure position only because of Al Davis. This leaves the Buccaneers and it appears they are looking for other pieces to add to their team. All of this information will lead one to believe that a quarterback will be available but why should the Bills draft a quarterback.
The Bills used three different quarterbacks this year and they all failed to lead this team to their full potential. When a team has two top wide receivers in Owens and Evans, a 1,000 yard rusher in Jackson, and an offensive line to support a 1,000 rusher, then the quarterback should be able to lead their team to a better record than 6-10.
The Buffalo Bills need to take a quarterback and give him some consistently with the coaching staff in order to turn this team around. If Tim Tebow is still available then I say take him. There is a lot of doubt about Tebow making it in the NFL but he is a proven leader and winner. If he has the right people around him and a good coaching staff, Tebow could be a star in the NFL. If nothing else he could use the Sanchez clause and win some games by avoiding errors. Every quarterback on the Bills squad at this time throw more interceptions then touchdowns. Any one of the quarterbacks listed above, with the right amount of team and coaching could lead this team back into the playoffs.
The Bottom Line: Buffalo: Draft a quarterback!
